Criminal defence lawyer since 2003. Doctor of Law with distinction and lecturer in Criminal Law at the University of Granada. Formerly a judge and a public prosecutor.
Career
Twenty years
of defence
Rachid Mohamed Hammu has worked on every side of a Spanish criminal case. He sat as a judge in the courts of Ceuta for five years, served as a public prosecutor in the Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Cádiz, and has defended criminal cases without interruption for more than twenty years. Knowing how a judgment is built and how a prosecution is sustained changes the way they are challenged.
He holds a Doctorate in Law (Legal Sciences programme) with distinction from the University of Granada, where he is a member of the Department of Criminal Law and teaches and researches. He also holds a Master's degree in Traffic Law and Road Safety and a university specialist qualification in Immigration Law.
